About Sophie

Sophie Grace began designing with beads at the age of two. She quickly graduated from plastic to crystals,seed beads and semi precious stones. She is interested in minerals and had studies her Great Grandpa Leonard’s collection.

At the age of four Sophie Grace turned her attention to fabric and the first design to be fabricated was the result of two flower designs that Sophie color coded instead of coloring. She directed the design, arranged the repeat mode and critiqued the color before the fabric wad printed. Her flowers on green fabric has been used for wall hangings, a pillow, and curtain trim. Sophie was 4 and a half when this design was completed.

For her 5th birthday she received a children’s sewing machine which she is now saving for her sister, Lila. Sophie now works on a Husqvarna Viking Rose.

Sophie, whose work is know as Sophie Grace Designs, has shown her quilts at Massachusetts General Hospital. The Daniels Gallery in Boston, Frame-Ables in Concord MA. Her spring collection will first be shown at Lyn Evans Potpourri in Concord in may 2012 and at the Daniels Gallery in June and July 2012. Sophie will celebrate her 7th birthday during the Lyn Evans show.

This exhibit is a benefit for the Massachusetts Children’s Trust Fund.

Sophie is the third generation in her family to be involved in the work of Children’s Trust Fund

Sophie and her Grandma Marjie assembled Sophie’s first grade quilt project.

She has new fabric coming.
